The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) has documented unprecedented decline in nature and accelerating extinction risk across many species. Migratory species face habitat fragmentation, overexploitation, pollution, climate change, and infrastructure pressures; the UN Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals coordinates international action. This cause supports habitat conservation, anti-poaching and trafficking enforcement, humane standards for animals in agriculture and research where policy applies, and science-based recovery plans so ecosystems and species can persist.
