An estimated nine million lead service lines are still in the ground, and PFAS contamination now shows up in systems serving tens of millions of people. This cause asks for full funding of the replacement programme, enforceable PFAS limits with a realistic compliance runway, and dedicated technical assistance for the small and rural systems that cannot absorb the cost on their own.
